Wat Phnom–this can be found in Phnom Penh, a Buddhist church. Considered to be the tallest among religious buildings for its 27meter height, this was made in 1372. The legend says it was a shelter fir Buddha’s statues and was determined by a woman, Penh. It was also formerly called “hill of Penh.” Its main entrance is guarded by lions and snakes at the grand eastern staircase. People nowadays pray for luck at school, work and business. The ticket office is located at the bottom of the eastern staircase. You have to remove your shoes before you enter the temple to show respect.
When visiting Cambodia, one of the most visited in the top list is the Angkor Wat. They call it the temple city, it was built for the Hindus and it was eventually converted into a Buddthist temple. Angkor Wat is one of the most important archaeological sites in Southeast Asia.
Then, let’s go to The Royal Palace–one of the grandest places to visit in Cambodia. Not all areas in the Royal Palace can be seen by the public but there are still some places that is open to the public like Silvering Pagoda and Throne Hall. The Royal Palace is known as the home of Majesty Preah Bat Smdech Preah Norodom Sihanouk and Her Majesty Preah Reach Akka-Mohesey Norodom Monineath. The Palace was built in 1866 by His Majesty Preah Bat Norodom, great grandfather to the current King of Cambodia.
